DJ Hussler grew up with different music influences ranging from all forms of house, garage to hard dance. In the early 90s he imported UK and European underground dance music into the South African rave scene before relocating to London in '98. Being at the epicentre of the dance scene, he was heavily influenced by music from Tony De Vit, BK, Andy Farley, Organ Donors, Nick Sentience, Phil Reynolds, Ilogic, Fergie, and Paul Glazby.
His DJing was limited to house parties, until a friend wrote him in for a national DJ competition, surprising him on the night of his slot. Bringing a blend of various uplifting house elements into his energetic hard dance sets, DJ Hussler won 8 competitions in a row to take out the Southern England heats, making it to the finals. Whilst he didn’t win the overall competition, the experience propelled his love for music and driving crowds wild. Working the UK club scene between 2000 and 2004, he became known for his signature blend of high energy dance, playing at renowned venues like Orange at Camden Palace (KOKO) London and Insomniacz in Sheffield.
After an extended hiatus and an international journey that reshaped his sound, DJ Hussler returned in 2025 to his music passion - music production and DJing. In 2025 he took up weekly residencies on Groove London Radio and Bondi Radio, released a number of tracks across house and hard dance genres with three being signed to UFO Records label. More recently he’s played alongside established international DJs like Ben Nott, Hodgie and Bushwacka.
