個人簡介
Best known for: “‘Samsara’, ‘Peru’, ‘PLAY’ with Alan Walker, ‘Close Your Eyes’ with KSHMR.”
The Grammy-nominated Norwegian artist has spent a significant chunk of the last 12 months in producer mode, making music from studios based in Berlin, Bucharest, Stockholm and Nashville. “There are some incredibly talented songwriters out there, and it’s interesting to be fully part of creating my own tracks together with them and learn about other genres,” he tells DJ Mag.
More recently, Tungevaag remixed The White Stripes’ seminal track ‘Seven Nation Army’ in collaboration with Kraiz and remixed the emotionally charged ‘Lose You Tonight’ by Brennan Heart and Trevor Guthrie, both via the mighty SPINNIN’ RECORDS. With several accolades and nominations to his name, Tungevaag has (so far) reached Gold and Platinum status in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, India, Taiwan, South Korea, South Africa, Mexico and many more. Tungevaag has toured Bali, Tokyo, and Kathmandu, in addition to shows in China and Vietnam, bringing his sound beyond the superclubs and festivals of Europe and the USA. Not bad for one of Norway’s most notable musical exports, clocking up billions of streams worldwide and a loyal fanbase along the way too.
“Adam Port, Stryv, Keinemusik ‘Move’.”
Rising star DJ/producer of 2024? “John Summit."
Could DJs do more to ensure that producers are fairly paid for their art?
“Yes. Register all tracks properly.”
Should phones be banned on the dancefloor?
“I love the idea.”
A.I. - friend or foe?
“Personally I’m not a big fan of it. People can use it if they need to. In the end it’s up to the DJs themselves what should be released and played.”
