In Chicago, once prog leaning WXRT radio bailed on the genre with the arrival of punk/new wave around 78'-79' they never fully re-embraced it. XM-Sirius satellite radio started out great with Music Lab and Beyond Jazz shows but they too pulled the plug for the most part on prog rock. So, forums, band websites, online radio (thank you Mixcloud), PROG Magazine and of course tours by veteran and new proggers have kept this adventurous music top of mind for those in the know. Purchase prog music and merch directly from band websites or distributors and venture out, see some shows. It's a growing genre for old and young audiences alike.
