Based in Tokyo, Romy Mats has carved out a distinctive space in Japan's electronic music landscape through both his DJ work and curatorial vision. Born in 1994, he's the driving force behind Kaitai Shinsho (解体新書), a forward-thinking party series dedicated to bringing underground electronic music from across the globe to Japanese audiences—filtered through a distinctly local perspective. His sets move through techno, minimal, and deep house with the precision of someone genuinely invested in the sounds he's championing. Beyond the booth, Romy Mats co-directs KTSNS., the label extension of Kaitai Shinsho, alongside Albino Sound and VJ Camel. The project functions as both a platform and a statement: a space where international underground currents and Tokyo's own electronic music culture can meet on equal terms.
