PersyNotes (Terrance Booker) is a Chicago based hip-hop and R&B producer. He stands out by showcasing his dreams of becoming a full-fledged artist, a pianist with the ability to present story-like imagery using sound and melody alone. Persy had dabbled in music since he was only 4 years old. His influences are Curtis Mayfield, Big K.R.I.T., The Wu-Tang Clan, and many upcoming artists that he's met within the Chicago community. His head-strong mother along with life experiences play a part in his influences. His grandfather is his greatest influence and Persy would always watch him play with the utmost expression. This is where Persy had truly gained his “Chill” and “Bluesy” roots.

Persy began his journey of music at age 18 and would usually remain in his bedroom producing beats. Further along the journey, he had taken lessons to learn both music theory and improve his piano playing. He created his first beat tape, Curiosity: Vol 1, named because of his true inspiration, his grandfather. Persy’s first self-titled beat tape was released on March 27, 2019 with many more to follow.

Baton Rouge, LA based rap artist, J Da Wonda had discovered Persy and had contacted him. It was then that they decided to team up to create their first mixtape, The Darkness, showcasing both of their abilities and passions. Understanding that they both learned from each other’s knowledge and abilities, they continue to work together not only to create music but also for their self growth.
