DJ GIL was born and raised in Armenia, Colombia. From a very young age, he always had a passion for
music. He started pursuing this dream at the age of 13, when he attended his first DJ class in his home
town.
DJ GIL arrived to the United States when he was 19 years old. It did not take long for him to start sharing
his talent at local nightclubs and community events in Indianapolis. Since then, mixing has become a big part of his life working
3-4 nights a week at various clubs throughout the Mid-West, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, etc.
GIL is best known and most passionate about mixing Tropical music, but he truly knows no limits. He is
known for his Crossover style from different Latin genres to house music, but his music style has no
barriers.
Along with his great mixing skills and style, Gil has great energy and charisma with both Microphone and
Turntables that gets the audience on their feet every time he gets on stage. He can also read a crowd
very well to obtain his main goal: to bring joy to the people in the dance floor through music.
In 2013, he started working on various internet radio stations. He had his own radio show called "El
Break Del Medio Dia" streamed on "La Super Estrella Q-HD lasuperestrellaradio.webs.com". After that,
he would see how the numbers of viewers and listeners on his website and music pages would increase
rapidly and would reach audiences in countries such as France, Greece, Spain, Canada, United Kingdom,
Brasil, etc.
In 2014, DJ Gil participated in local Exitos 1590am DJ Battle. His outstanding performance, skills and
music knowledge took him to the finals and put him really close to winning. However, a family event
took him out of the country and not being able to compete in the finals, he was left with the third place.
DJ Gil's website launched in early 2014, enabling him to share his music, events and information direct
to his fans.
Between 2010 and 2018, DJ Gil released over 400 Mixtapes online.
In 2019, Gil's career grew as he became part of the second largest provider of Spanish Language content
in the United States, Telemundo Channel. On-Air Personality, director and presenter of the popular
show "Acceso Total". Also joining the family of Radio Station "La Grande 105.1 fm" in Indianapolis.
DJ Gil made his first appearance on Satellite Radio in 2019 joining the 'Sirius XM' Pitbull Globalization
Channel, being part of DJ Laz's Radio Show.
In 2020, Gil has reached over two million listeners who have enjoyed and played his mixes through his Soundcloud channel.
He launched his very own TV, Radio and Social Media SHOW named "Top 10 with DJ Gil" - "El Top 10 con DJ Gil" where he counts down
the most popular and listened to songs of the week. The show is streamed on IGTV, Telemundo and Radio 105.1 FM.
Gil was voted and recognized by winning the 2019 Indiana Latino Entertainment Award by the Indiana Latino Expo.
Currently, DJ Gil continues his career in the United States as a DJ, Promoter, Radio and TV host. Close to his eleventh
year as a Disc Jockey, DJ Gil enjoys every event to the fullest bringing joy and innovation to his audience.
