His love for the sound powers the dedication. His blood carries the love for the sound. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, DJ Trouble Kidd was nurtured around music from the very beginning to the present. When it wasn’t the “Aww that’s my song!” throwback Jazz, R&B, or Hip-Hop jam his parents would blast in the living room or the car speakers, it was the unique Chi-town house music Trouble Kidd would discover and bump with his friends. This diverse arsenal of music helped Trouble Kidd develop an ear for good music that keeps you moving, even before it blows up and becomes popular.
For years, DJ Trouble Kidd has been a student of the game, honing his skills on the turntable. His humility reminds him that once one thinks they know everything, they know nothing. Off the turntable, he is a hard-working people-person that takes every opportunity to grow, both as a person and an artist. That’s why he wasted no time once he arrived on Trinity College campus this past fall as a freshman. To the praise of many that stretch beyond his own circle, DJ Trouble Kidd has DJ’d at The Mill, dorm parties, frat houses, and other venues, adapting to the styles of diverse crowds of different musical backgrounds.
He’d tell you that his inspiration comes from the likes of DJ 8 Ball, DJ Quick Mix Claude, DJ Jermaine The Gentleman, DJ T-Rell, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and other curators of the culture. One day he aims to be in that company, and will never skip a beat that caters to the energy.
