Lo Fidelity Flip a.k.a Dj Flip Lopez

As someone born in the late 70s, I was most heavily influenced by the music of the 70s, notably classic rock, and the retro 80s. My attention while growing up with this music was held firm by their funky riffs, great vocals, loops, and electronic sounds. I was especially inspired by dance music artists like The Bingo Boys, La Tour, Heavy D and The Boyz and others who had, at that time, electronic dance hits.

Once I became a high schooler, that was when my DJing journey officially began, playing for small-time events and venues like my school dances. At the time, I was much more limited, both in experience and in equipment, so I mostly played the popular music of the time with whatever I had to work with.

From there, my musical tastes and DJing style would evolve as I became exposed to more and more artists and genres. I discovered my love for house music thanks to Hard Corey and Wrays "Love Train" and other great songs of the time, though the genre wasn't as well-appreciated where I lived. Everything changed, though, when I accidentally stumbled upon the "Peoples' Revolution" warehouse dance event in Kalamazoo, Michigan, home of Black Nations and Mechanisms Industries, record companies known for their techno music. Later on, I was finally able to experience techno and house music in other key cities such as Detroit and Chicago in person, music that, up until then, I had only been able to experience through shaky radio signals.

Thanks to these influences, I was able to craft a mixing style all my own and become the DJ that I am today. I am very proud of what I have posted here, so I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!
