I grew up listening to Rap, Rnb, Jazz, Funk, Classic Rock, Rock and Heavy Metal. Not to mention I started playing a violin at 9, switched to a cello at 10 and played it all through school. Then one day a buddy was at a 'party hut' and had a tape (yes a tape) of a mix he had done that day. My buddy, Kevin, played DnB then, but the mix just happened to be of a House cd that all of our friends were jamming at the time, Bob Sinclair's 'Paradise'.
Being quite familiar with the songs I instantly started picking up on the mixes and heard my calling, Djing. At that point in my life, I knew House was the only music for me. It had all the bass I wanted, the words I didn't and all the melody and harmony I could handle. This all happened back in the summer of 1998 by the way.
So here I am now 14 years later, 7,000 miles from home. I have adjusted to the digital age of djing, thus the name Digital D. I use a Numark NS6 to mix these days. I never use sync or Abelton to mix. It's always raw!
